ASS subtitle rendering broken in official Mac build of 1.0rc2

Description

In the officially released OS X build of 1.0rc2 available at <http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html>, something seems to be broken with libass, though I can't determine exactly what.

Playing a video with the default subtitle renderer causes no problems. Playing a video with the "-ass" option turned on, however, results in this:

"MPlayer interrupted by signal 10 in module: filter_video

  • MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug."

Running under GDB produces the following crash report:

Program received signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS, Could not access memory.
Reason: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at address: 0x00000000
0x0060e2ec in dv_vlc_map ()

This failure occurs on both Intel and PPC, both running mplayer from the command line and using the GUI.

libass works correctly both in the official 1.0rc1 build and in Mohammed Haque's unofficial SVN build of RC2 <http://haque.net/software/mplayer/mplayerosx/builds/>.

(Also... my apologies for misspelling Mohammad Haque's first name. :))
