Description

This is really a mirror-report of:
http://bugs.xine-project.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151

I used KDE3.5.9 (opensuse 10.3) and decided to update it to KDE3.5.10 along with other programs I use -- this include xine and libs,
mplayer, kaffeine. I didn't touch mplayer codecs.

So now I have the latest mplayer and the same movies I played before now are unplayable -- i.e. I don't see any video (only blue window), but I can hear the audio. What's more I cannot even close mplayer -- I have to kill it.

Maybe this will be helpful -- the same problem applies to xine. It reports "stream with unsupported codec -- xvid". The xine settings are unchanged, the directory path to codecs is correct, when I force playing, the audio is played OK, but there is no video -- only black screen. So very similar to mplayer.

This only happened after yesterday update, before (for years) it worked fine.

PS. I just found out that only KPlayer is capable now to play movies on my system.

Update: I installed newer ffmpeg lib, and now situation looks like this:
works: mplayer, xine, kaffeine, kplayer (which uses mplayer after all)
does not work: gmplayer (the results still as described before)

Another this time happy update -- just by pure luck I tried to test several video modes, shm worked but since the output there was not that good after testing all modes, I get back to xv mode and it worked. So in short I don't know what happened but now even gmplayer works again.
Closing then.
