should avoid from starting screensaver but it doesn't - screen saver starts
after defined number of minutes. i found in a configuration a field:
'stop XScreenSaver', but what with standard gnome screen saver?

According to my reports, it should work if you use latest SVN of MPlayer and the very latest version of the Gnome screensaver.
Gnome took a very long time to implement that standard APIs.
If updating Gnome is not an option use the example command in the man page for -heartbeat-cmd (note that rc2 is probably far too ancient to support it).
ok i tried with soft link. i created it but. when i have set MPLAYER_HOME variable.. no config was read, but defaults is it mean that when MPLAYER_HOME is not set mplayer looks for config and also subtitles in home directory
