Description
Version: MPlayer SVN-r33081-4.4.4 (C) 2000-2011 MPlayer Team
MPlayer in general handles ICY Servers pretty good. However, I did find one feed that updates the Metadata after each show. When this occurs the player exits and stops playing the stream. I can reconnect to the stream right away but considering it's a Cartoon Feed it changes every 5-7 minutes. The stream is as follows:
http://208.53.183.252:8100;stream.nsv
I call this from a .pls file using the -playlist command because I use it with MythTV in the MythVideo's section so I can give the feed a description.
I also noticed that the window tends to resize regularly. I know it's running in a very odd resolution.. According to Winamp it's 480x368 using VP62. I also use the -monitoraspect 16:9 option if this makes a difference. Just watch the feed for a few minutes in -fs -vo xv mode. Seems like a stick in the Aspect Ratio Detector that can't decide which aspect to use so it switches around during the feed. I haven't tried forcing the aspect ratio yet, but I figured once it decided on an aspect ratio, it wouldn't change that during playback unless the feed says to do otherwise which doesn't seem to be the case.
On some feeds I also get a FFMPEG: DRI Failure message (not this one). I assume that is specifically a FFMPEG issue but thought it would be a good idea to report that anyway.
Oh and enjoy that feed, that's some old fashion good stuff. :)
