Description
Using mplayer without any configuration (except for the -fs option) and with the default video output driver shows the video content on the desktop background.
I'm using the mplayer-devel port with the following variants: @35203_2+a52+aa+caca+debug+dirac+dts+esd+fribidi+live+man_all_lang+mencoder_extras+mng+noappleremote+nodvd+osd+sdl+speex+x11

What do you mean by "sticky"?
And how is -fs relevant, what happens if you don't use -fs?
Lastly, which version of OSX? I only can easily test on 10.5 (PPC) but could not see any obvious issues - but it's of course easy to miss something.
