4K video playback is slow

Description
I am using MPlayer release 1.1.1 to playback 4K video which is encoded by H.264 high profile, I'd like to get the playback speed more than 60fps, however, the playback speed I got was about 50 fps by setting -vo direct3d, about 20 fps by setting -vo directx. By the way, I have used multithread (i.e. 16 threads) for H.264 decoding.
In addition, I have done a decoding speed test by setting -vo null, I could get about 120fps, so my question is that why the playback speed is dramatically decreased if the video frame is displayed. Anyway way to improve the playback speed?
My graphic card is AMD Firepro W7000.
