Description
I make use of both the built-in X server screen saver (i.e. the one enabled by e.g. "xset s 300 300") and DPMS. A command-line invocation of MPlayer disables both during playback (which is good), and leaves them disabled on exit (which is bad).
I've come back to my workstation after hours of absence to find the screen still on, and wondered what exactly disabled all screen blanking. (At first I thought it was a prank!)
