Streaming BBC radio starts but then stops after 1-2 minutes

Description

I am using XBMC. I used to be able to play all BBC radio streams without any problems in XBMC. For some weeks I have found that the stream works for 1-2 minutes but then stops.

I'd be grateful if you could help, or let me know if you would recommend I log this with the XBMC guys.

i've been playing that stream for the last 10 mins, no problems.

what is with your mplayer version number?
"MPlayer dev-CVS-061219-03:02-3.4.4 " is a complete lie.
mplayer changed from cvs to svn a few months ago.

answer: try latest svn mplayer, as it says in the bugreports in the DOCS.

Thanks for your reply. I'm using Xbox Media Center which evidently uses an older build of mplayer. I'll see if the XBMC crew can help.

I found that opening the url (rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio2/live/r2_dsat_g2.ra) in mplayer works fine.

But - opening the file radio2.strm (which I have attached but simply contains the above url) does not work. It doesn't play at all.

I'm therefore reopening the bug, I hope that's OK

well it does on the PC, but still not in XBMC :-(
