Seek in mpeg-ts file greater than 2/4GB? locks up mplayer

Description
I record hdtv in the US at ~6GB an hour. the command i use to record is:
mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile <filename> dvb://channel
I am not sure what the actual limit is but mplayer cannot seek in said files if they are over the limit. It appear to be in a infinite loop and has to be killed (C)
converting said video to avi with mencoder results in a seekable file that mplayer can handle

sounds like you need to build with largefile support
and mplayer seeks in my 16gb mpg files so works for me.
I have since moved on to a 64-bit linux system. I beleive i had large file support as i could seek the files as avi over the limit as listed in the initial report. Though over 3 1/2 years alot can change and the bug may not exist anymore.
