Description

mplayer reverses the Centre and LFE channels when it decodes DTS streams with libdts (0.0.2-svn-1ubuntu2). I'm on AMD64 Ubuntu Feisty. It's been doing this for a while now, and it still happens with the latest SVN: MPlayer dev-SVN-r24586-4.1.2.

I have a 5.1 speaker setup with analog inputs, where the LFE channel goes through a low-pass filter to the sub. Most dialog is inaudible on dts streams because of this. AC3, AAC, Vorbis (IIRC), and 6-channel WAV files have the correct channel ordering. (I have some test material that has a voice saying "front left", etc.)

I confirmed the channels are just being reversed by plugging headphones into the centre/lfe analog jack, and hearing the centre channel clearly in one ear, and hearing it muted when I used alsamixer to mute the "LFE" channel.

Xine (from the Ubuntu package) gets the channels right with libdts.

mplayer output:

SVN r24721 has a fix of DTS channel order, I think that will fix this bug, please try it. If it not, reopen this bug.
