Description
The current Arabic subtitle "ISO-8859-6", though the most common encoding used for Arabic (other than Unicode) is Windows-1256, it is almost the only used encoding for Arabic subtitles.

try -subcp Windows-1256 or -subcp cp1256
That is true, but I'm talking about the GUI here, the Arabic encoding entery that is their now is useless and should be replaced, Arabic text are either windows-1265 (and all arabic subtitles that I've seen so far use this) or utf-8 encoded.

Added cp1256 to the selection box in SVN r25947.
But please note that gmplayer is no longer officially developed, so esp. if you have issues with it you should consider to start searching for a different MPlayer Gui like e.g. smplayer.
try -subcp Windows-1256 or -subcp cp1256
