Currently mplayer provides feature for auto detection of encoding for
given (single) language. It is a bit confusing and does not work too well.
But even if it wouldn't confusing and worked great, this wish would be
still valid.
Please provide automatic detection (period -- without phrase "for given
language"). With a bit of statistics it is possible to recognize encoding
used for given text file -- without need user would specify additionally the language.
Such feature would be great help for multilingual users -- simply load subtitles and the encoding is detected.
