Well that is at 9999 seconds, obviously. So I assume MPlayer reports the playtime to the front-end in seconds and at 10000 it clips, so after 9999 we are back at zero.
If you want that limitation to be removed, you would need to send a bug report (or feature request) to the MPlayer mailing list, where the developers have a chance to notice it...

I conclude for now that this is actually not a MPlayer bug but a frontend bug.
Please reopen if you have specific information that would indicate that the bug is in MPlayer.
I can't see any limitation in MPlayer that would cause this, so we need more detailed information on what goes wrong, for example from a SMPlayer developer.
I don't even know where SMPlayer gets the current time from.
