Description
Hi, the default sound output in MPlayer under Linux, if unspecified, should be *ALSA* rather than OSS.
ALSA has been dominant, and OSS deprecated, for years.
Outputting to OSS (effectively ALSA's emulation of OSS) is an unsatisfactory default because it means ALSA's software mixing is disabled.
This applies to all Linux apps, not just MPlayer.
