Description
When I use frame-by-frame stepping (for a while), the audio becomes unsynchronized with the video. When I switch back to normal play, it speeds it back.
I have:
Gentoo
media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20110322 (MPlayer SVN-r33094-4.4.5)
occured with video:
VIDEO: [XVID] 720x576 12bpp 25.000 fps 1187.0 kbps (144.9 kbyte/s)
Opening audio decoder: [mp3lib] MPEG layer-2, layer-3
AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 32.0 kbit/2.08% (ratio: 4000->192000)
Selected audio codec: [mp3] afm: mp3lib (mp3lib MPEG layer-2, layer-3)
==========================================================================
AO: [alsa] 48000Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)
ao: alsa : it has double audio stepping length
sdl : it seems to have a tiny bit smaller stepping length
(If I stick on the fbf stepping, the video seems to correct, but the sounds gets crisping, at frames.
I hope, it helps

no problems here, most of the synch problems lately have been caused by stupid
pulseaudio.
are you using pulseaudio or has it been installed by your distribution? if you
disable it in the system , does fbf work for you without problems?
Hi,
I do not have pulseaudio installed. I have alsa, and sdl installed.
mplayer offer:
Available audio output drivers:
alsa ALSA-0.9.x-1.x audio output
jack JACK audio output
sdl SDLlib audio output
mpegpes MPEG-PES audio output
v4l2 V4L2 MPEG Audio Decoder output
null Null audio output
pcm RAW PCM/WAVE file writer audio output
Bests,
Ferenc
