mencoder <audioless-video.avi> -ovc copy -oac copy −audiofile <filename.ac3> -o
<output.avi>
completely freezes mencoder. This appears to be because the audio parameters
cannot be properly detected as reported here:

yes you need to specify the correct rawaudio params if adding a raw audio file.
