Description
I converted a VHS tape to DVD. The tape had a very poor quality so video
framedrops periodically occured in v4l. Probably this has some influence on
audio stream too. I captured to MJPEG (video) + MPEG2 (audio) using mencoder.
After this i converted the file to VOB with AC3. When i attempted to feed the
result to dvdauthor it reported "WARN: discontinuity in audio channel 0, please
remux the output". Resulting disc had a broken interrupting audio track.
Attempt to process this once more with mencoder with options -ovc copy -oac
lavc -lavcopts acodec=ac3 gave nothing, the result of this operation was also
broken in the same way. ffmpeg did the job quite nicely with the same options (-
vc copy -ac ac3).
I guess you'll need a part of both files to actually see their contents. I can
give you some small part (i guess 2-3 MB will be enough). Please contact me by
email for this.
