Nothing happens when I try playing a stream

Description
I tried playing Philosomatika's streaming radio (http://philosomatika.com), these are the 2 streams I tried:
But whe it does is launch MPlayer, and then nothing happens. I click the "Play" button, and nothing happens even after several minutes.
It works fine with VLC though.

sample stream in url is 404
live stream works fine in mplayer with -playlist

it works with
mplayer -playlist http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-station.pls?id=5628
or did you want playlist files to be automatically detected ?
