gmplayer doesn't keep the sound muted between two films on the playlist

Description
When I run a list of files with gmplayer (gmplayer *.mpg) and mute the sound while a first film on the playlist is played, the sound becomes unmuted when the second/next film starts.
The same test with mplayer works fine. Sound stays muted for all films on the playlist.
