Description
Summary of the bug:
While playing an mkv file that at some point displays overlayed rotated text (see attached screenshot) on the image mplayer crashes or freezes due memory corruption.
How to reproduce:
Simply play a movie that uses this overlay technique.
Using such a movie, if I let the movie play normally it will freeze once it gets to the point of rendering this rotated text.
If on the other hand I fast-forward by using UP or RIGHT keys, then mplayer simply crashes.
Attached 2 logs, 1 with a crash that includes a backtrace and another that resulted in a freeze (that was Ctrl-C'ed).

As you may have noticed from the description of the screenshot, this crash/freeze doesn't affect the mplayer2 fork.

you are using an awfully old mplayer.
any chance you could use a newer mplayer version (one built in 2014)?
