Running gentoo, have ebuild "media-video/mplayer-1.2_pre20130729" installed with the folowing use flags: "X a52 alsa cdio debug dts dvd dvdnav enca encode gif iconv jpeg libass mad mmx mmxext mng mp3 network opengl osdmenu png pulseaudio sdl shm sse sse2 ssse3 theora truetype unicode vorbis x264 xanim xinerama xscreensaver xv xvid"

the file is 6GB (6 435 660 746) and comes from:
avconv -i "​http://tv4play-i.akamaihd.net/i/mp4root/2014-12-22/pid5213160(3033541_,T3MP4130,T3MP43,T3MP48,T3MP415,T3MP425,T3MP435,T3MP445,).mp4.csmil//index_6_av.m3u8" -acodec copy -vcodec copy "skifs_3033541.avi"

MPlayer and/or gdb output would be nice, the skifs_3033541.avi.txt actually contains AVI, not text, is that intentional?

Also, at which point does it crash? Current SVN version does not crash for me with the included .avi.txt file.

Made a copy of the first bytes, using dd, saving it as txt as that was sugested in the "A.6. What to report". that small file works fine for me to.

Sorry for forgeting to include the gdb-log in the tar file. added it as atachement here insted.
+ a fresh mplayer output, including time, it crashes a few secounds in, before the window is open.
