Description
Summary of the bug:
How to reproduce:
start mplayer with -stop-xscreensaver start a video press pause screensaver wont activate in the paused state
According to the manpages -stop-xscreensaver "Turns off xscreensaver at startup and turns it on again on exit." so it only turns the screensaver back on when a video ends or is stopped, but not when a user presses pause, which is a problem.
I would classify this as a defect, but it could easily be seen as an enhancement, so i'll let you decide which is more preferable.
This was tested with the mplayer version that comes with Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty which is version 1.1 using smplayer as the GUI front end ( http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/mplayer ).
Could you test if the patch attached to this email
https://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-dev-eng/2015-February/072844.html
fixes your issue?
You would need to specify "-xscreensaver-when-paused" option to activate the feature. You could of course set that option in your config file later on.
