ogm file, desync and subtitles flicker

Using MPlayer Redxii-SVN-r37448-4.9.3 (x86_64) on Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit) with Smplayer as frontend
When playing some old ogm files on an equaly old laptop (Intel Celeron 900 + GMA4500MHD) there is an ever widening a/v desync and constant subtitles flicker.

-autosync 5 -mc 0.5 will acceptably fix the desync but not the subtitle flicker.

the console spams "No pts value from demuxer to use for frame! pts after filters MISSING" constantly during playback.
-correct-pts doesnt seem to do anything.
